How do I confirm or change the payday for an upcoming holiday?
What is the Bank Holiday function?
The Bank Holiday function exists for clients to confirm the date that employees should be paid near a bank holiday. Full permission admins can access the Bank Holiday function under Configurations in the DailyPay Portal.
Why does DailyPay ask for this information?
If a bank holiday falls on a pay group’s typically scheduled payday, the employees’ pay needs to be administered either the business day before or after the bank holiday. Pay can not be administered on a bank holiday because banks are closed. Read more here about what days constitute a bank holiday.
When do I need to confirm the payday for a bank holiday?
As soon as possible! Your team will receive an email notification that the upcoming bank holiday is now available to confirm in the Portal. We ask that you confirm the date no later than 3 business days prior to the bank holiday.
How to Confirm a Payday in the DailyPay Portal
- Navigate to the Bank Holidays page under Configuration in the DailyPay Portal. This setting is available to all Full Permission admins.
- Select the bank holiday that needs your attention. This is indicated by bolded text or the ‘Confirm’ tag.
- Confirm the correct payday.
By clicking ‘Confirm,’ you are acknowledging that the pay groups listed on the right hand side will receive pay on the payday indicated by the calendar. An alternative payday can be chosen using the calendar.

After confirming, you’ll see a notice reminding your team of the last date to upload the payroll journal.
FAQs
How did DailyPay determine what payday will be for the pay groups that would typically be paid on the holiday?
The payday shown in the DailyPay Portal is based off of a preference selected by your team during implementation.
What if I don’t want to adjust payday from the bank holiday date?
If your payday is not changing from the bank holiday date, please understand that per the Federal Reserve, Federal Reserve Banks and branches are closed, and DailyPay will not be able to send payment that day. Funds will be sent using your date selection made during implementation, or at the latest, on the following business day.
What if I need to adjust a specific pay group’s payday?
