What happens on payday now that I’m with DailyPay?
DailyPay partners with your employer to offer access to your earned pay prior to payday. While your pay schedule remains the same, you will notice a few changes in how your funds are delivered and labeled on payday and when you request early transfers.
How Your Paycheck Is Delivered
Once you make your first On-Demand Pay transfer, your paycheck follows three steps:
- Your employer sends your paycheck to DailyPay.
- Any transfers (and fees) you made during that pay period are deducted.
- The rest of your paycheck goes to the Primary Bank Account you set in the DailyPay app.
Key Changes to Your Paycheck
- Direct Deposit: DailyPay deposits your paycheck into your chosen account as set in the DailyPay app.
- Bank Statements: Your deposit may appear as "Wells Fargo, N.A." or “PNC Bank, N.A.” on your bank statement, pay stub, and payroll. These are DailyPay's trusted banking partners, and are the accounts through which DailyPay facilitates the early access transfers.
-
Changing Your Bank Account: You can update your Primary Bank Account in Settings in the DailyPay app.
- Note: If you change your Primary Bank Account the day before payday, the change will not take effect until your next payday.
The Payday Calculation
On your scheduled payday, you receive your remaining net pay after the following subtractions:
- Total Gross Earnings - (Employer Calculated Taxes, Withholdings & Deductions) - (On-Demand Pay Transfers & Fees, If Any) = Final Payday Deposit
Where to Find Payday Reminders in the App
The DailyPay app reminds you of what to expect on payday at several points, so paycheck changes never come as a surprise:
| In Panels: A reminder panel appears in the Today tab, the Earnings tab, and your paycheck breakdown. Tap What to expect on payday for a visual explanation. |
|
| Notifications: You'll receive a notification when you first add a bank account, when your first transfer goes through, three days before payday, and on payday itself. |
