Shifts in the DailyPay Portal
Clients with Full Permission, View Only and Local Admin Access have visibility into shifts that contribute to an employee's DailyPay balance.
'Shifts' will help you:
- Triage questions from employees about what they are seeing in the DailyPay app
- Employees have access to the same data in their employee app so this feature will allow you to speak the same language when communicating with your employees.
- Confirm DailyPay is receiving gross earnings data in a timely manner for specific employees
How to access 'Shifts' in the DailyPay Portal
(1) Go to the users section
(2) Click into an individual user and going to the ‘Shifts’ tab
Information in the Shifts Table:
Shift data is only available for the current pay period.
- Status Column: The status of the shift determines if the earnings will be included or excluded from the users' available balance. See table below for more information on shift exclusion reasons.
- Hours: If available, we show the hours reported for the recorded shift
- Earnings Column: Earnings represent the gross earnings for the shift.
- Available Column: Amount available for the employee to advance.
- Advance Rate: The percentage of gross earnings available for the user to advance. Please note, employees do not have access to their individual advance rate in their view.
If there is no shift data available for the user, you will see a message "No Shift Data Available." This could mean that we haven't yet received shift data for the current pay period or your organization does not provide shift data to DailyPay. If you do not have this data available and are interested in providing, please reach out to your DailyPay admin to learn more.
Shift Exclusion Reasons |
|
Individual shift max dollar amount exceeded |
If a given shift exceeds the “shift amount exclusion” limit setup, it will be excluded from the user's available balance. Please note the full shift will be excluded and not just the exceeded amount. |
Individual shift max hours exceeded | If a given shift exceeds the “hours exclusion” limit setup, it will be excluded from the user's available balance. Please note the full shift will be excluded and not just the exceeded hours. |
Daily max dollar or max hours exceeded | Similar to individual shift exclusions, the daily maximum shift exclusion checks for multiple shifts (total hours and payout across shifts in a day) and checks it against the hours and/ or amount limits set. |
Pay period max dollar or max hours exceeded | If the total earnings or hours associated with a pay period exceeds the pay period hours and/or amount exclusion limits, then any new earnings for that pay period are excluded. |
*Please note any shift exclusions will still be included in the employee's remainder pay but cannot be advanced before payday.
